He's coming back! We live in a kingdom, a spiritual territory with well-established boundaries. Jesus Himself said, "The kingdom of God is within you." We have been given the authority to do the Father's business, to take charge of the affairs of the Kingdom. But one day soon, our King is returning! "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel and with the trumpet of God" (1 Thessalonians 4:16). He will rule from earth and the government will be upon His shoulders.
As if that isn't enough to look forward to, Jesus is coming as the Bridegroom for His bride! "The dead in Christ will rise first, then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air; and thus we shall always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:17). He fulfilled the prophecies of the Old Testament concerning His first coming. Just as perfectly, He will fulfill the more than 300 New Testament references to His second coming. Our hearts echo the writer of Revelation, saying, "Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus."
